What happened on 26 November 1930?
By the Congress committee, in Lahore session 1929, it was decided that India is going to celebrate the (Purn Swraj) total independence on 26 January 1930, in that time there was lord Irvin was the governor of India.
But he was a cunning governor and he didn’t say clearly to the Indian freedom fighter. On 26 January 1930, Indian freedom fighter could celebrate their total independence.
Why 26 January is celebrated?
It took 2 years 11 months 18 days to make the Constitution of India.
The Constitution of India came into force on 26 January 1950, due to the absence of full Swaraj on 26 January 1930 in the history of India. While the Constitution of India was ready on 26 November 1949. On 26 November 1949, some articles of the Constitution were implemented. But the constitution was fully implemented only on 26 January 1950. The day the Constitution was enacted, we celebrate it as Republic Day. The Constitution of India was enacted on 26 January 1950 and the Constitution of 1935 was discontinued. It was Purna Swaraj Day of India’s independence. It is considered one of the greatest dates in the history of India. That’s why all Indians celebrate Republic Day on 26 January every year with great pomp. Republic Day is the result of the sacrifice of Indian independent fighters of our country.
