3. Mata Sati and Bhole Nath

According to third story, Lord Shankar’s wife Sati had called herself in the fire. Mother Sati was the daughter of Daksha and Bholenath’s wife. One reason behind celebrating Lohri is that on this day, Mother Sati offered herself in the fire. Lohri is also celebrated in her memory

How Punjabis celebrate Lohri Festival

Punjabi celebrates Lohri with great fanfare. On the evening of the day before Makar Sakranti, people worship the Lord. The next day, Punjabi people bring the left over to their home and worship.
